Science to Street Art is a collaborative project that aims to visually inspire STEAM education and careers through the innovative planning, design and management of public spaces known as Placemaking.
Our goal is to extend STEM engagement and broaden the sense of belonging in STEM among underserved populations through place-based knowing practices found in many indigenous cultures around the world combined various art genres.
Our approach is to:
identify communities underserved by science and public art
seek input from community teams
collaboratively create public science-art that reflects community culture
engage and connect community members
establish community stewardship that lasts beyond the initial involvement.
